Ex Machina
Alex Garland’s 2014 science fiction film, Ex Machina, follows a programmer invited to the home of the company CEO to administer a turing test to a female android. The CEO’s home, the Juvet Landscape Hotel in real life, rests in the hills only a few miles from where we stopped for coffee.

According to sixteenth century myth, a man named Gudbrand jumped this gorge to escape a mob set to kill him for marrying a local lady. He leaped and lived his remaining days safe above the valley, because no one dared to jump after him. That included his bride.
This location now has a lovely place for a bite and a drink, called Gudbrandsjuvet cafe (right side of photo).

The bridge at the top of the photo permits people to walk over this gorge.
