Ice and Snow

Just like the Led Zeppelin song sings:

We come from the land of the ice and snow

Well, the band’s song referred to Iceland, though it constantly came to mind when peering out at the endless ice and snow.

Markers Lead The Way

The mountains contained posts and other markers to keep caravans carrying good on the right track. The paths through the mountains would claim the lives of travelers under good conditions, so having people veer from the best way to go would increase the odds for catastrophe.

It would not hurt to have a cross top some of the markers, thought some of the area’s Christians.

Warmed Up A Bit

They told me not to expect the days to get much warmer. In fact, the winds that whip through the mountains bring the chill to unbearable levels following even the warmest days.
