Gold Coast

Less than one hour’s drive from Brisbane, Gold Coast has nice beaches and water activities for Aussie and foreign visitors. We rented a condo on the “Glitter Strip” for a few nights. A neighbor of ours in Hawaii has a daughter who lives here, so it was great to meet up with her and her husband, having met them in Hawaii before.

We went shopping. I was fascinated by the golf carts shuttling folks around.

The coffee shop downstairs from our condo had a few records to spin.

One funny thing: When we went to supper one night, I ordered carbonara. They brought me a gigantic spoon.

Speaking of supper, we ate a place down the road, in Broadbeach. After we finished our meal, the waiter gave us a small container with fish food, to throw out into the harbor.
